I was born in 1994, but I grew up in the early 2000’s. I didn’t start appreciating the great songs and artists that came from the 90’s until I was in high school, but better late than never right? Here are some of my favourite songs from the 90’s.
1. 93 ‘Till Infinity – Souls of Mischief
I actually heard this song for the first time a few months ago when I was watching Always Be My Maybe (super cute movie on Netflix). I’m obsessed and I love blasting it in my car.
2. Wonderwall – Oasis
The first time I heard this song was when I was in grade 7 & 8 (at one of my school dances). Even at 14 years old, I could appreciate how great of a song it was. To this day I can listen to this song on repeat and there are a lot of good cover versions too.
3. I Swear – All-4-One
I absolutely love this song! Not only is it such a great song, but it’s also in one of the best movies ever. I heard this song for the first time when I watched Just Friends. If you haven’t heard or watched either, I think you should and I promise you won’t regret it.
4. Show Me Love – Robin S.
This song is so catchy! There was a point where I listened to this song on repeat and every time I heard it I’d want to dance. I still feel that way and I love playing thing song while I’m driving.
5. Rhythm Is a Dancer – Snap!
I kind of forgot about this song until I heard it again the other day and damn, I still love it! I don’t necessarily have the best rhythm when I dance, but this song will make anyone think they do haha. If you’re looking for a jam to listen to, choose this song.
6. What Is Love – Haddaway
This song just makes me laugh and dance every time I hear it. I heard it for the first time when I watched A Night at the Roxbury and ever since then I’ve loved it! My boyfriend and I even shake our heads like they do in the movie every time we hear it haha. Please listen to this song, it was a hit back in the 90’s and it’s still fantastic now.
7. No Scrubs – TLC
No, I don’t want no scrub… I mean who does?! The lyrics are still relevant today and so much fun to sing. I always play this song in the car, it makes the ride so much better!
8. I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing – Aerosmith
This was another song that I first heard when I was 14 years old and even then it made my heart skip a beat. When you’re so young, you get emotional so easily and this song made me feel like I was in love. (Even at a young age aha)
9. Believe – Cher
This song is my favourite Cher song and probably always will be. You can catch me singing this song every time it comes on. So good!
10. It Must Have Been Love – Roxette
I love this song! I heard it again when I was watching Long Shot (great movie, you should watch it) and it’s just so cute. I will definitely be playing this song at my wedding. It’s so romantic.
I hope you enjoy these songs as much as I do! These songs make me so happy and I honestly love the music from the 90’s so much.
